Q: What happens when a dissociative self defense mechanism turns self destructive?
A: As always, Shit Happens..
Schizophrenia is not something “You Are” or even a single unified disease.
It’s a condition in the brain, where a malignant combination of different aspects of the brains activity occur that drastically alters the conscience of the person in question.The combination is in some way linked to neuronal signal transmitters chemical levels, but properly also in equally amount to different kind of changes in the overall neural network of neurons in, or “Connectome” of, the brain.
No matter the function of the condition, the associated mental state of mind is extremely excruciating, characterized by frequent delusion and sometimes also hallucination, And it can affect >Everyone< and for very different time periods in each individual case.
There really is no difference in the symptoms of an unlucky person who, for instance by cocaine abuse or severe depression (and so on..), have acquired this state of mind. And an even unluckier person who may have had symptoms for his or her entire adult life and thus ended up a long term psychiatric patient and branded by society as “Mentally Ill”.
The only real difference is the length of the time period for which these symptoms persist.
When you learn this to be “relatively true”, all that’s left of important questions are:
- What are the different causes of this Mental State?
- How do we treat this so that, in the best cases, the person returns to a “normal” of healthy state?
- And if this, in some severe cases, seems currently impossible, What else can we try, to make a positive difference for the affected person? (and there families, etc.)
The most important thing however should always be to respect the integrity, wishes and feeling of the affected person, in each individual case.

I personally am not familiar with the standard procedure for trespassing, when the perpetrator is feline. So what can one do other than grap the camera
and start shooting evidence for the inevitable trial

The Site is now up and running again after a migration to our new and absolutely wonderful (virtual) Debian 5 server.
Virtual meaning that it runs within a Parallals Virtuosso Container with half a Gig of RAM and OS level emulation that has only about a 5% CPU overhead.
(Ooh happy Geek!
